Sasha Sirota
A little playful. A little unexpected.

Sasha Sirota is a songwriter, producer, and musician whose credits include Justin Bieber, Shakira, and Zac Brown.
The brief for his website was fairly simple: make it playful, use a full-screen sliding panel format, and include a horizontally scrolling collection of music videos.
Beyond that, I had a lot of creative freedom.
I built the site around movement, with oversized typography, bold imagery, and full-screen panels that slide over one another as you move through the page. It's a little unconventional, but that was the point. Sasha has worked across enough genres and with enough different artists that a traditional musician's website didn't feel particularly appropriate.

Making the movement work.
The more interesting technical challenge was bringing two different kinds of navigation together.
The site moves vertically between full-screen sections, while the music library works horizontally, letting visitors browse videos, performances, and production credits.
Getting those interactions to coexist meant paying particular attention to scrolling, touch gestures, transitions, and how everything behaves across different screen sizes.
I wanted the movement to feel like part of the design, rather than something added for effect.

More than a music portfolio.
Alongside the interactive homepage, I built dedicated sections for Sasha's biography, discography and credits, press, and photography.
The idea was to give his work plenty of room without making the site feel like an encyclopedia of everything he's ever done.

Sasha loved the finished result. He particularly enjoyed the playful character of the design and the sliding-panel implementation, which became one of the defining features of the project.
It's one of those websites where I got to have some fun with both the design and the code.
